RWBY Cosplay

I've done a lot of RWBY cosplay in my time! It's a show I absolutely adore, filled with amazing and diverse characters. This is the post dump for all my cos and the RWBY adjacent things I've worked on. At some point it might evolve into a RoosterTeeth post, but this is good for now.

My very first gal was the Yellow in RWBY Yang Xiao Long herself. Her spunky attitude and powerful combat style from the Yellow Trailer got me hooked. The more time I spend with her the more I love her. Her Season 1 outfit was the first time I really felt proud of a costume I made. I had pretty much no experience with making armor and her gauntlets taught me a lot and really spurred me into prop making.

2016 Shufuso Japanese House

Back a bit ago we did a Tsubasa themed photoshoot at the lovely Shufuso Japanese House in Philadelphia, PA. We decided to make these pretty complicated outfits about a month before which was definitely not enough time but we got some really pretty photos. It was a horrifically cold day (temps around freezing all day) and we were barefoot for most of it. So stress was high!

Also there is some of the WIP pictures from the huge effort to make these.

Occasionally, I will take a break from sewing and pick up my camera. I'm a complete novice at photography, but some times I get lucky with a good shot. Here are some photos from Katsucon 2015.

An Introduction

Welcome!

DDKR started a duo of two people inspired by art and animation to create costumes based on the designs of other artists. The name DDKR is short for DokiDokiKokoroki, which is a horrible joke made at a cafe to people who didn't understand our weird, off-beat humour. 

We decided to semi-formalize as DDKR in June 2015. But we have been friends and crafting buddies for over 10 years. In this time we have grown from complete novices to semi-competent crafters, who only occasionally have to ask their moms for help.
This first post is a small photo album to show case our past work, but from here on it will be a detailed display of what we make in the future. (Warning, some of these works are just not good at all! But they show the great progress we've made.)
